End Zone

So with all this dang blasted heat it is giving me some comfort to see on my pregnancy ticker that they fetus is at the end of the line! I only one short month I will no longer feel like a whale (well I will probably feel like a whale, just instead of a Grey Whale it will be more like a Beluga). And instead of not sleeping from being hot/baby kicking me all night I will be NOT sleeping nursing and rocking a newborn! I will also be EXTREMELY engorged with my new found food supply and sore all over my body! Wait a sec.... this isn't sounding like that much better of an option...

This cool breezy weather is EXACTLY what I needed today. I knew that the heat was affecting me more being preggers and all, but I guess I didn't realize how much until today. I felt wonderful when I woke up, my house is the perfect temperature with cool breezes flowing through. I had a Doctor appointment this morning and with the exception of what the weigh scale had to tell me, everything is looking fabulous! (I mean who knew that eating teriyaki chicken and rice every night at 10:30 would make your weight jump up so much in two weeks?).

I didn't even feel the need to nap with Olivia today and instead did some serious deep cleaning of my house. I just feel so centered~you know?

Oh and for my review of Harry Potter..... I REALLY liked it! I try to separate the book from the movie, because come on there is no way you could make a movie that would be AS fabulous as the book, but for summertime movie fare I found it very entertaining. All the teenage angst really made me bust up laughing, on more than a few occasions ;)

Our little family!

On Sunday our friends Brandon and Alicia had their precious little daughter Gloria blessed in Bellingham 1st Ward. It was so fun to take a "vacation" from our Ward and attend theirs! They had a wonderful luncheon after at their house (I ate enough for 5 people....like I mean REALLY I ate a TON). Alicia got some pictures of us on their front step. It was so precious because Olivia just reached out and held my hand for all the pictures, like "Even though I am sitting with Daddy, I still love you too Mommy!". She even turned to smile at me multiple times, like she thought it was so cool we were getting pictures taken of us.

I just bought some hair clips and such and started to do things with her hair and she loves it! She will stand completely still while I put the pigtails in her hair and then walks around with a coy smile and posing~such a girlie girl! Whenever I ask her if she wants "pretty-pretties" in her hair she gets a huge smile and runs to stand by the couch. I am trying not to do her hair too often, so she doesn't start getting sick of it and only do it when she says that I can. I have to pick my battles carefully!!

...HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS MAN!!!!!!

So the swelling has set in, making me start to feel VERY uncomfortable and it is getting harder and harder for me to stay on top of everyday cleaning. I've always swung between either having my house spotless or looking like a cyclone went through it (like weekly). But for the last few months my house was looking really good, everything organized and cleaned on a regular basis, all toys quickly picked up before bed so I started the next day on the right foot. I would do certain deep cleaning on certain days and it felt SO GOOD to be in a house that was orderly. I never realized how much it stressed me out before when everything went neglected. I hadn't done much cleaning since Thursday ( combo of me swelling, too dang hot to move and busy with family) and I was feeling like my little "haven" was spiraling out of control! So I bet you are wondering how this relates to me husband??

Since last week he has been tiding up for me and easing my load and painting what will be Olivia's new room for me. I even asked last week this question "So I have a deal for you, if you tidy up the house for me I will, in return, soak in the bathtub for an hour." I was totally joking thinking there is no way in a million years he would think that was any sort of deal....BUT he turns to me and says that is a great idea! When I got out of the tub he had scrubbed my kitchen top to bottom! TODAY, after working 11 hours he took Olivia for a drive so I could take a nap, organized the closets around, tidied up the house and is now finishing the painting in Olivia's new room. When I came out to help he shooed me away and insisted I elevate my feet to stop the swelling. He has been so helpful without evening begrudging a second.

When I started to tear up over how nice he is and thanked him he just turned to me and said "thank you for growing our little girl" with total and complete sincerity. I don't want this to sound like a brag fest, but I am just so thankful that I have such a caring husband who puts my needs above his own! My pregnancy isn't any harder than anyone else's but it makes such a difference for my emotional and mental well being to know my husband has my back 110%. Now as per Marcus' orders I am going to eat a fudge-sickle and watch Food Network.

Bought and Paid For!

So I have been on the edge of my seat waiting for this movie to come out FOREVER! I had an especially rough moment when they pushed back the release date (it was supposed to come out the same time as Twilight and then they pushed it back to the summer). I Fandango'd my tickets yesterday and Thursday (OUR movie day) will pretty much be the best day of my LIFE! I may or may not have screamed like a teenager when I saw the trailer for the first time in theaters (which may or may not have been followed by my applause).
Marcus and I are going to see it with our good friend Trevor, so it should be a blast. Kaitlyn alas is out of town (Trevor's wife) but we have plans to do round two and see it in the IMAX at the end of the month altogether. Don't feel too bad for Kaitlyn because she will be watching it with her family while on vacation!
So I pretty much can't wait for Thursday, YEAH!!! Anybody else getting into Harry Potter Fever?!

Olivia's Favorites...

Big adult sized hat that covers up her face half the time...

Rain boots that are three sizes too big and unbelievably awkward to walk around in!

These two things usually make their appearances about an hour after she wakes up. She pulls the boots on herself and then proceeds to truck around the house in them. Because they are so big, they are very easy for her to put on. When she has decided that her house has become too boring she will put the boots on and then open the front door in an attempt to make it over to "ga-ga's" house (ga-ga being a combo of grandma and grandpa and is what she calls both of them). As a result the front door must remain deadlocked.

In her defense she does inform me about her intentions to leave by repeatedly pointing in the direction of their house saying "ga-ga" over and over. It isn't until I give her the definite "no we are not going over there right now" that she takes matters into her own hands and calming and quietly starts planning her escape. The first few times I felt a draft from the door being open and found her in the driveway on her way until I discovered that pad locking the door foiled her. She has not quite figured out how to open up the others doors in the house but I am assuming that isn't too far off.

The hat is her favorite accessory and is usually followed by headbands as necklaces or her purse for fancy occasions!

Marcus works really hard, so anytime he slows down his body goes into instant hibernation mode. It's really cute because I catch them like this a lot, Olivia just chilin' out watching TV or whatever and Marcus totally passed out! I'm pretty used to the Marcus taking random catnaps thing but it totally cracks me up how good Olivia is during these times. She could totally be raising all kinds of heck without anybody REALLY keeping an eye on her, but she just sits there like a good girl and hangs outwith her Daddy.

Marcus has also instituted Tuesday nights as "Daddy daughter night". It's been so great for both of them. He says I am allowed to tag along if I want, but it is such a good opportunity for me to run errands, get cleaning done, completely veg out or whatever! He just thought it would be a good idea if there was at least one night a week that was totally focused on Olivia, even if they are hiking around the property checking on the animals. It also gets him thinking during the week of fun things to do with her, so if there are ever any nights when I am at my wits end and just need a break, he has some things in mind already for "daddy daughter date" material and then he can just take off with her instead of trying to scramble to think of something to do. So far they have played around the house, done random errands together, played at parks and visited various pet stores. The pet store idea is genius because it's totally free and Olivia loved looking at all the little critters and the dogs that would come into the store with their owners while they shop.

He has gone above and beyond to make things easier for me and help me out as much as I need it. It makes such a difference in my day just knowing that when Marcus gets home, even if he is exhausted, he is there 110% to help out! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband and father to my kid(s).
