Morning Habit...

So if a certain pregnant lady had been having chocolate haggen-dazs ice cream as a breakfast appetizer that wouldn't be UNHEALTHY...Right???
I mean it is dairy, so it's just giving me a jump start on my daily calcium allowance. (Conveniently forgetting about all the fat and sugar that is accompanying the dairy). I'm starting to be afraid during my morning weigh ins! This same person might also be eating said dairy product as a night time snack, afternoon snack and as a "kids won't stop crying" snack. It probably doesn't help that the same pregnant lady also found a plethora of ice cream on sale at Safeway this week. How can it be so wrong when it feels (AND TASTES) so right?!?!

This might become a problem!

Hungry

So whenever the new weight watchers commercials come on with the "hungry monster" on them, Olivia stops whatever she is doing to watch them. She just thinks he is so funny, plus the music is really catchy. She really could care less about TV (unless it was Baby Einstein) but this commercial stops her in her tracks.
Kaitlyn saw these cute little stuffies and got them for Olivia and Blaine. Olivia has been playing with hers ALL DAY! When I first showed it to her she squealed with laughter. It even has a magnet in it so she has been sticking it on the fridge~Thanks Kaitlyn!

Getting My Bake On

Cravings anyone?? I have been loving baked goods lately. Pie, bread, cookies, gooey apple cake, buns and as a result my ovenS has been in overdrive (figuratively with my fetus and literally with the baking). After reading my friend Rachel's blog about a fabulous dinner she made with home made apple pie for dessert I was salivating. Then I thought what is stopping me from getting my pie on? I can make a decent crust, why not satisfy my craving?

I also have an AMAZING recipe for canned apple pie filling so I can enjoy that fresh from the orchard taste year round. It also makes baking a pie super easy, just make the crust and dump in the filling!

One was not enough! I just happened to think of reasons why I could make more. Friends had a baby--bake 'em a pie! Invited to dinner--offer to bring desert! Why make one when I can make two? One pie to give away and one pie to enjoy. Sadly my apple pie filling has taken a hit~so I've had to be creative. Which is where all the OTHER baked goods come in.

For the record I do NOT bake bread. My mom who loves her pregnant daughter does however and always seems to have extra cheesy/garlic centered buns for me to take home when I swing by!

I am not the only one benefiting from the baking bonanza. Marcus thinks he has died and gone to heaven with all the deliciousness that magically appears on the counter. Olivia has decided she loves eating some choc chip cookies!

I am kind of a "like my baby clean" freak and Liv is always wiped up right away after eating anything (gooey, sticky hands make me cringe). As such she has gotten a bit neurotic (my daughter neurotic?!?!) about being dirty. So when she first started in on the warm cookie, she had a hard time with the chocolate on her hands. She quickly got over it though and was in cookie heaven!

Liv has been quickly getting over the dirty hands thing since the weather has been nicer. We have been outside a lot more lately and at first she would have a MELTDOWN if her hands got dirty (crying and refusing to do anything until mommy wiped her hands off). Today she sat down by the side of the driveway and proceeded to pile all manner of dirt, rocks, grass and rubbish all over her lap. Yes...today was a TWO bath day!

We had our Ultrasound...

We would like to introduce you to our crazy baby. We think it has Marcus' eye sockets ;) It was cracking us up during the ultrasound, moving around a ton and it was fun to feel it move and watch it at the same time. I love the picture above with the crazy shocked face, it just looks so funny!

We also decided this week that we wanted to find out the gender. What with them only being 20 months apart I thought it would be nice to be able to get all the clothes ready and be totally ready so I'm not having to mess around with that, a 20 month old and a new born. Plus Marcus really wanted to find out and he is pretty easy going with everything, so if he ever does have a request for something then I feel like I should be able to make it happen for him. He had high hopes for a boy, so it was a little bit of a let down but he is totally excited to have another daughter. If the situations were reversed, I know I would be dying to have a girl so I think he is being a really great about it! Plus it's not like it is the end of the road, we will be popping out more babies (probably a little while later, these two are quite close age wise) so hopefully he will get his boy in there somehow ;). I'm pumped it's a girl, especially with them close in age and I save all of Liv's stuff so I am set there too. I am trying to be hopeful that all this estrogen won't come back to bite me later on down the road~ two hormonal teenagers under two years apart won't cause TOO much trouble...RIGHT?

As the halfway point draws near...

I have learned there are some things the same and some things not the same with this pregnancy.

~I puked a TON more with this one, although that is all gone now.

~I'm not sure if there is any bra in the world that could contain what once were my (input appropriate word here). Marcus appears to be a fan of said phenomenon.

~HOLY LIGAMENT PAIN! I only remember feeling it once (and I really mean once, during a shift at work, with Olivia). It is a near constant thing now and makes me VERY uncomfortable.

~I am way more calm and not such a freak about everything and every Dr. appointment.

~Time is absolutely flying by-which I love!-.

~I like weighing myself everyday, as opposed to NEVER weighing myself with Olivia.
The first Dr. appointment with Liv I about crapped my pants when I saw the scale.
I vowed to never find out what I weighed for the remainder of incubation (only for them to tell me if it was not within "normal ranges", so if I had grown to epic unhealthy proportions they would then talk to me about it). Which worked great until I weighed myself two weeks before my due date and died/cried/fainted/panic-attacked when I saw the scale. I feel like weighing myself everyday has made me more aware of what I eat, and to eat healthy. I don't know for sure but I feel like I haven't gained as much so far (so far being the optimum word here).

~Trying not to be resentful of the fact that the funnest parts of the whole year are happening within days of my due date...IE: THE FAIR! I honestly love the fair and am normally there everyday, thanks to Jayme's mom for employing me at her coffee stand.

~It is impossible for me to picture a kid of mine not looking like Olivia. Because she is a) the cutest thing ever (sorry but she is and you will just have to deal with that fact) and b) I cannot fathom what another Marcus/Vashti combo could possibly look like.

I may or may not post a picture of my burgeoning belly, I will have to psych myself up for it if I do!

Hallelujah and Beyonce

So all my weeping and gnashing of teeth seems to have scared away any of the nasty bugs threatening to infiltrate our house. The day I thought Olivia was getting the flu again turned out to be a fluke. No fever, no diarrhea and she mostly just slept all day. When she woke up from her marathon nap she ate bread totally fine and slept "like a baby" that night. The next day it was like it never happened, eating and playing like a pro! I am so grateful because I was about ready to loose it if we had another week of throwing up and laundry up the wazzu!

Kaitlyn's mom Deanne called me on Tuesday night and asked me to be her "date" to the Beyonce concert on Wednesday night. I have only been to two concert's in my whole life, so I felt like I had won the lottery!! Wed. also happened to be Liv's "I'm sick day~psych!" so having the concert to look forward to really helped me get through the day. The drive to Seattle -all by myself- was GLORIOUS! It was so much fun at the concert and we even hit up McDonald's afterwards for a carb fix, totally girl time and totally fun! I jokingly called Deanne my sugar momma b/c she wouldn't let me pay for anything, I really tried to but she wouldn't have it (I will have to figure some way to return the favor)! She is so much fun, I love it whenever I can spend time with her. I was so grateful to have the night away and to listen to awesome music! Thanks again for inviting me Deanne (I am also available for fun girl days, girl time and pretty much anything else you need a date for!). After a busy week I am VERY excited to have some down time this weekend with just our little fam.

You have GOT to be KIDDING me!!

So I am pretty sure in the world of germs that infect you and make you feel horrible, this is what they must be seeing (see above picture).

A Giant enormous welcome mat in front of our house, with reader boards that say:

"Please come and infect our house with your nasty little selves, WE WOULD LOVE TO BE SICK!"

Olivia started projectile vomiting EVERYWHERE this morning. Need I remind you that we were dealing with this scene only a mere TWO WEEKS AGO!!!!!! Not to mention the fact that we all had colds last week and the two weeks prior to the flu hitting. I have been fairly patient with all the nose goobers, runny poop diapers and stomach contents flying, but everyone hits their breaking point and I am SO THERE!!!

So far she has been through four (count em) FOUR outfits and several blankets that I have laid down for protection on the couch. Every single part of her bedding has just made it to the dryer (even the bumper, so must have been doing the gymnastics while throwing up this morning). I have a feeling I might run out of clean clothes and sanity before the day has run out.

~Just realized I have a patch of dried throw up on my shirt-NICE!- So that is where that smell was coming from~

Wish Me Luck!
