Confessions of a Canadian

So it finally hit me today what a big week next week will be for me. For those of you that don't know, I am a Canadian (insert favorite cheese head joke here). For almost a year now I have been going through the process to become a US citizen. You have to turn in your application, and money, then you go down to get finger printed. After that the FBI does a background check on you, which I passed ;) The last step, which will take place on Tuesday, is an interview with a homeland security person. They ask you various US history questions (who wrote the Star Spangled Banner, explain how a bill becomes law, what were the original 13 colonies, etc). They also test that you can speak, read and write English. After that all I have to do is be sworn in.

Nerves have started to set in though. I keep remembering my Mom's interview. (She has been like a month ahead of me in the process. I have gone down with her for all of her appointments, which is great because I get a better heads up of what is in store for me!) When it was her time to interview she got nervous and forgot a question. She had earlier been concentrating on who our allies were in WW2, so when the interviewer asked who we were fighting against she blanked and said who the allies were. My mom asked to redo the question and the lady was like "no, too late!" She totally passed her interview, but I could totally see myself doing the same thing. I really have no excuse because I attended school down here and took US history.

It will be so nice to be done with the whole process. It's kind of unnerving to think that my residency is conditional. They could kick my back to Canada if I ever broke the law, which would never happen, but still... With my citizenship you will all be stuck with this Canadian sister for life! There will be no getting rid of me after Tuesday!

What's Going On Here??

I must seriously be dumb at blogging, after that last post I tried to add more people to my blogging buddies list and it only let me add one person before saying error and not letting me add any more! I know I'm doing it right because I have successfully added two people but I'm not understanding why it just bombed on me. I feel like I spend 90% of the time on this site just figuring the dang thing out with only 10% doing the fun part-blogging. I will persevere and beat this thing!

Weather!?!

I can't wait for the weather to turn nicer. We had that one gorgeous t-shirt weather day a little while ago and now I feel like it's turned a complete 180. It's like it's teasing you, it's all nice and beautiful and today it's freezing. I hadn't realized how much I missed the sun until it finally started appearing again. I almost felt like I needed my heavy duty coat on today! Oh well, I got some serious house work done today which is always nice.

Here Are Some Gorgeous Pictures

Here are some of my favorite pictures of our little bambino. The picture of me and her is from Easter Sunday, it is my favorite fancy dress that she has.
Unfortunatley she is sick for the first time right now, so she has been very fussy. She can be tempermental anyway so combine that with runny nose and sore throat, it has not been fun.
On a side note it took me a ridiculously long time to upload these pictures. Maybe I'm an instant gratification type of person, but at the rate it took to download I might not be posting pictures very often. I think Marcus is going to take a second look at it and see if I'm doing it wonky or something. (Which is quite probably as I am not to handy with computer-ish things).
Also I don't really know where to get some cute templates from, they didn't have very many cute ones to pick from. I'm sure I'll figure this out someday.

We're blogging

Well we are going to start blogging. Hopefully what we put in here will be a little interesting.
